Evolution of crane cabins
Danieli has recently re-engineered the cabins of its cranes and EOT cranes, by implementing the feedback received from customers and operators to improve their ergonomy, functionality and general maintainability.
Danieli has recently re-engineered the cabins of its cranes and EOT cranes, by implementing the feedback received from customers and operators to improve their ergonomy, functionality and general maintainability.
The new cabins are available in two different sizes:
The main difference between the two is the length of the cabin. As a matter of fact, HTXL is larger by 400mm compared to MTL. Moreover, it features mounting points for the heat shields which are necessary in case the cabin is used in high temperature environments, in particular for charging and casting cranes.
An important improvement consists in the replacement of the main double glass pane with one single glass pane providing greater visibility.
Thanks to the new design of the whole cabin and in particular of the glass panes, it is possible to perform maintenance and glass cleaning much more safely. Since these cabins are intended for use also in environments with high dust content, it is essential to provide the possibility of cleaning the windows. To this end, a system has been studied to allow opening the window towards the inside of the cabin, which facilitates the ordinary cleaning operation.
The frame of the larger glass pane is equipped with lifting lugs and the fixing screws can be removed from the outside, which makes it possible to perform the operations without the presence of an operator inside the cabin.
An essential element of any machine is the operator's safety. For this reason, the glass panes used to make the cabins must be certified in accordance with EN 13557 standard which provides that if the glass panes can withstand a pressure of 1.25kN on 500mm², it is not necessary to install anti-fall bars and the operator's view is consequently improved.
It is also very important to provide a comfortable working environment for the operator. For this reason, the cabins are soundproofed by means of panels lined with rock wool and feature a mounting frame for the air conditioner.
CONTROL PULPITS
Regarding the control pulpit, the new DECRA cabins come with three different standard solutions which customers can select according to their needs and to the type of crane they buy.
HIGH COMFORT SEAT
The pulpits of the Danieli cranes can be customized with KFS 9 and KFS 10 model seats designed with ergonomic criteria and providing maximum comfort levels. All regulation controls are easily accessible from the normal working position. These seats are equipped with an integrated vibration damping system with weight adjustment.

- High Temperature Extra Large (HTXL).
