Danieli Centro Cranes has completed the upgrade of the EOT crane at Ferroglobe Mangan Norge AS, Norway, extending the service life of this critical equipment.

The refurbishment of the 70-year-old crane involved complete replacement of the 70/30-t capacity rotating trolley, including bridge travelling groups and electrical system.
The substantial modification was performed using the original structural part of the bridge.
The crane inspection, during which NDT (non-destructive testing) was carried out for all the structural parts, confirmed that the residual life estimation was performed according to the new working conditions, thus authorizing the reassembly the units and returning the crane to operation.
The intervention completely fulfilled the requirements of the Machinery Directive; therefore, the new components are fully compliant with current European standards.
The disassembly of old parts, installation activities and start-up were completed in record time thanks to the joint efforts of both Ferroglobe and Danieli team.

The assembly certificate was signed on 24 January 2020, right after the final acceptance of the works carried out.
