Ten years after the successful installation of the 600-ton capacity ingot crane, Acciai Speciali Terni awarded Danieli Centro Cranes with a new order for two EOT Cranes 90/35T - A7/M7, to be supplied on turn-key basis, together with the dismantling activity for the existing cranes, namely CP 103 and CP 420.
The installation site will be the highly productive AST plant at Terni, in particular the melting and treatment activities in the LAC (Laovrazioni a Caldo) bay.
Starting in October 2019, the existing CP 103 will be dismantled and then, in sequence, the new CP104 and CP105 cranes will be installed, concluding with the dismantling of the existing CP 420.
The project planning will ensure that on-site activities minimize interference with the plant production flow, and keep at least three cranes in production in the LAC bay during all installation phases.
The cranes will be equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies. In particular:
- Remote monitoring system. They key parameters (temperature, vibration, working hours, lifted weights) of the technological equipment (monitors, gearboxes, drives and component subject to maintenance) will be collected and displayed in a remote pulpit HMI for diagnostic and maintenance purposes.
- Assisted camera view. The crane will be equipped with cameras focused on areas where the operator does not have a full view of the operation, aiding a safe pick-up/release of the load.
- Project of crane movement. The crane will project an LED light bar on the ground to alert the ground operator of the position and movements of the crane in the bay.
