Mega order to Danieli Centro Cranes from AQS, Algeria: one of the most significant industrial projects in MENA region.

On March 2015 Danieli group has been awarded by Algerian Qatari Solb (AQS) the order for the supply on turnkey basis of a new giant steel complex to be installed in Bellara, on the coastal area of northern Algeria.
The project, financially supported by an Algerian/Qatari joint venture, is one of the most important industrial projects ongoing in the MENA ( Middle East- North Africa) region and foresees the installation of 2 electric melt shops and 3 long products rolling mills, for a total productivity of 2 Mtpy of steel long products.
In this framework, Danieli Centro Cranes is going to supply all the cranes and technological lifting tools of the plant, totalizing 38 cranes, in the largest order by volume received by the company, up to now.
The most significant equipment, by lifting size, include the two 250(310)/50/10 ton EOT cranes used for Electric Arc Furnaces charging and the two 200/50/10 teeming EOT cranes used for liquid steel ladles handling: all designed according to Danieli "Green Crane" concept of regenerative drive system.
Together with these major cranes, the supply includes all the cranes used in scrap handling facilities, in ferroalloy plants, meltshop 1 & 2, bar and wire mill 1,2 & 3, water treatment facilities, finished and semi-finished products handling areas.
Together with technological cranes, the packages include also all standard maintenance hoists and jib cranes.
The massive order will be executed thanks to the combined manufacturing capabilities of our Italian and Thai shops allowing the manufacturing in parallel even of massive orders like this one, in time and according to full European manufacturing quality.
Evident technical and commercial advantages in having a sole supplier for the complete crane fleet of a plant of this magnitude are given by the highly standardized and unified approach in the conception the all the cranes of the plant and the consequent massive optimization in spare parts stock handling as well as of maintenance practices.
