The successful and long lasting technological partnership between ArcelorMittal Group and Danieli in the field of Cranes & Lifting systems continues.
On February 2015 Danieli has been selected as supplier for two new EOT cranes for the Krakow site of ArcelorMittal Poland.
The two new 100/80 ton capacity cranes are dedicated to slab handling service at the Hot Strip Mill furnace slab yard.
Danieli is in charge not only of the design and complete manufacturing of the equipment, executed in its own shops in Northern Italy, but also for the complete erection and the commissioning of the cranes, up to certification of local authorities in compliance with Polish laws.
The cranes are equipped with suitable tongues for hot slabs handling (temperatures up to 800 C) and specifically designed to ensure cabin operator comfort even with an ambient temperature up to 80 C, due to massive use of hot slab charging practice.
Crane service classifications are A8/M8, according to FEM 98.
In order to properly manage slab yard logistics, the trolleys are featuring rotating function, with a rotating angle up to 270 degrees and a minimum turnover of 180 degrees.
Operator visibility and control of the full yard working area is highly facilitated by the adoption of independent travelling cabin from trolley movement.
State of the art solutions are adopted for Electric and Automation system, to ensure a robust and reliable mechatronic package.
Regenerative breaking system is considered, with all crane motors controlled by inverter.
The Danieli " iCrane" automation system features complete equipment and functional monitoring, including:
Sensor and alarm management
Lifted weight management
Safety & Maintenance status
Access status
PLC's , limit switches and drives status Remote diagnostics is ensured via WIFI communication system
Operator friendly maintenance predictive software is also part of the automation package supplied.
Such system allows predictive maintenance of each critical crane component, based on the real operational conditions and services of the equipment.
This tool is jointly developed together with Customer maintenance personnel, in order to include all SITE consolidated maintenance practices and Roles, for a total Customization.
This is the second time Danieli supplies Cranes to ArcelorMittal Poland, following the order of a complete "Independent beam rail handling system", successfully commissioned in 2013 with the full Satisfaction of Customer.
